MST Best Team A to Z Challenge
Win, or else you’ll lose!
Fighting Irish of Notre Dame
FC Barcelona of...Barcelona
Just one episode after two classic teams, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Boston Celtic, battled it out in this legitimate sports contest, things got really fake, really fast in the fight for Letter D!
Jack got started with a “fake” team known as the Dream Team of US Olympic Basketball fame. While they were no doubt dominant, questions were raised by Dan and Judge Cobra about the legitimacy of a team competing in exhibition basketball. There was also an issue of whether or not Dream Team was the official team name, or a nickname (which had previously been outlawed).
Dan followed this up with a team from a “fake” sport: the Dudley Boyz of professional wrestling. Dan proved that the Dudleyz are undoubtedly one of the most famous, decorated, and successful teams in the history of wrestling, however he had a hard time convincing guest Judge Cobra of their merits.
In the end, it was Jack winning by the skin of his teeth to claim his first outright victory, however he knows he will have to step his game up if he wants to continue making headway in this, the MST A to Z Challenge!
These weeks battle can only be described as highway robbery, the only question is: By who?
Jack chose the St. Louis Cardinals, while Dan chose the Boston Celtics. Both competitors made great cases for the “C Team” being the best in the land. Dan’s case was so good, in fact, that it was initially chosen as the winner. However Dan had barely had time to gloat when Jack swooped in with a tale that warmed guest judge SonoAmazing’s heart, and won him the unimaginable: a tie.
So while Dan retains the two point advantage in the challenge, Jack won a moral victory, notching his first point in the early stages of the contest.
St. Louis Cardinals
In this week’s festivities, Dan and Jack went head to head in a battle to determine what team ever, starting with the letter B, was the best. Dan was bold, and chose a team who has been struggling recently, but historically has been quite strong: the Chicago Bears. Jack stayed in Chicago, but chose a team who host both the best dynasty of all time and the best player of all time, the Chicago Bulls. This was a very close battle, but ultimately guest judge, the esteemed Drunk Adam of pro wrestling fame, determined that the Bull’s 6 good years and 40+ less than good years were not enough to overcome the century old Bears, and their historical dominance. This gave Dan his second win in a row, and puts the pressure on Jack to step things up with the letter C to ensure he does not get in a hole he can’t dig out of!
In this week’s battle, Jack made a great argument for Arsenal being the most dominant of all letter A’s. His platform was based on Arsenal being the most consistent football club in the English Premier League’s history. However their lack of wins in international play, combined with Dan’s A.C. Milan’s success in the international game, gave Dan the slight edge this week!
